Numbers of both newly-established businesses and registered capital rise

There are nearly 17,000 active enterprises in Hai Duong province

According to the Department of Planning and Investment, by August 31, 1,112 new businesses had been established in the province with a total registered capital of nearly 9,760 billion VND, up 149 businesses and close to 400 billion VND in registered capital year on year.

In the past eight months, 294 enterprises were resumed, and 145 others were transformed, up 38 and 23 businesses over the same period last year, respectively.

The reason for the large numbers of newly-established and resumed businesses is prompt shifting of pandemic control strategies, helping to restore economic activities and reduce instability in the business environment.

Domestic purchasing power recovered well.

Garment and textile, clothing, and footwear industries made good use of incentives from new-generation free trade agreements, especially the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), etc.

Besides, from the beginning of the year to the end of August, the province recorded 103 businesses dissolved, 892 enterprises temporarily suspending operations, and 137 others announcing their dissolution.

At present, there are nearly 17,000 active enterprises in Hai Duong. The province is striving to increase the number of newly-established businesses in 2022 by 10 – 15%.
