Con Son stream
The Hydraulic Construction Institute under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the provincial Departments of Science and Technology and Culture, Sports, and Tourism co-organized the workshop "Researching and proposing measures to maintain the flow of Con Son stream in Con Son – Kiep Bac special national relic site" at Con Son pagoda in the special national relic site, Chi Linh city, on October 5.
There, a team implementing the project "Researching and proposing measures to maintain the flow of Con Son stream in Nguyen Trai temple relic site, Hai Duong province" assessed and analyzed the then status of Con Son stream.
The team proposed six measures to maintain the stream, including regenerating vegetation; using surface water instead of groundwater; restoring the groundwater level; developing guidelines, policies and scientific solutions; raising people's awareness about forest and groundwater protection; and building a reservoir to regulate water upstream.
In the immediate future, scientists suggested taking water upstream to flow down the stream, filling cracks along the stream to limit water loss, and building underwater dams on the stream to keep water and replenish groundwater. Water in the stream will be detained by the underwater dams and taken to a semicircular reservoir (source of supply) to regenerate and save water.
