That Hung organic oranges see high yield, prices

This year, many organically-cultivated orange orchards in That Hung ward, Kinh Mon provincial town, have recorded high productivity and fine appearance.

Gardeners are busy welcoming visitors and buyers.

That Hung organic oranges are round, beautifully bright yellow, succulent, sweet, and slightly fragrant.

Early-ripe sweet oranges are being sold in gardens for 50,000 - 55,000 VND/kg, 20,000 VND/kg higher than this time last year.

This year, the productivity of That Hung oranges reached 1.2 tons of fruit/ sao (360 m²) (up 20%). After deduction of investment costs, growers can make a profit of 45 million VND/ sao (higher than the previous year by 15 million VND/ sao).

There are more than 60 ha of oranges in That Hung ward, mostly on alluvial grounds along the Kinh Thay river in Vu Xa residential area.

That Hung sweet oranges achieved the 4-star OCOP title in 2021.
