Born in 1971 in Hai Phong, Hung has pursued the ceramic craft since he was a child
Hung opened his own workshop in Ha Noi's Bat Trang pottery village, where he tries to improve techniques he inherited from previous generations
The artisan has worked hard at his job, constantly experimenting and exploring new directions to develop his father's pottery profession
Artisan Nguyen Hung and 'Thiem Thu Thien Phong An” – the Guinness world record for the largest ceramic sculpture of a mythical creature. It is a sculpture of a toad sitting on a pile of coins and gold bullion, which is 173.5cm long, 110cm wide and 77.8cm tall
'Phu Quy Man Duong,' the world’s largest carved ceramic plate, measures 137 cm and weighs 400 kg. It was made in 2018 and took roughly 2,500 hours
Nguyen Hung said he hopes to promote Vietnamese ceramics to more international audiences
