Central and local delegates begin a new-year writing in the national language
The Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Chi Linh city solemnly began a 2023 Quy Mao writing at Chu Van An temple on the morning of January 29 (i.e. the 8th day of the 1st lunar month).

Beginning a new-year writing is a practical act showing respect for learning and values of the position and career of celebrity Chu Van An and predecessors to the national history.
Eternal Teacher Chu Van An was born in 1292 in Quang Liet village, Thanh Dam district (now Van hamlet, Thanh Liet commune, Thanh Tri district, Ha Noi), and passed away in 1370.

Chu Van An was a royal student who refused to become a mandarin but opened a school.
He deserved great credit for forming and propagandizing Confucian morality and thought with Vietnamese identity. He was famous, respected, and admired for his extensive knowledge, pure and righteous heart, and nobleness.
People ask for letters at the temple of Teacher Chu Van An
Chu Van An was invited by King Tran Minh Tong to teach the crown prince and mandarins’ children as deputy headmaster of Quoc Tu Giam (Royal College).
Under the reign of King Du Tong, his request for execution of seven dishonest flatterers was rejected by the king, so he resigned as mandarin and went to Phuong Hoang mountain, Chi Linh, to work as a teacher.

On this occasion, to encourage the students' learning spirit, the organizers awarded 21 excellent students in Chi Linh city and Ha Noi’s Thanh Tri district with 5 million VND each, deducted from the city Learning Promotion Fund.
Six businesses donated 800 million VND to the fund.
