The sticky rice was harvested right at the time of 2023 Quy Mao Lunar New Year and festivals, resulting in vast sales.

According to Nguyen Thi Quy, Director of Duy Tan Clean Agricultural Product Cooperative, since early 2023, members of the cooperative have made connections to sell 40 tons of cai hoa vang sticky rice, three times higher than the previous year, with an insignificant amount left.

Rice was selected, packed in 2 – 5 kg bags, and sold to various provinces and cities throughout the country for 35,000 VND/kg, up 3,500 VND/kg.

To ensure production needs, the cooperative will add 30 ha and buy two more rice dryers in the next crop.

Winning the Vietnamese agricultural golden brand, cai hoa vang sticky rice has superior quality compared to some similar types of rice as the grain is even and unbroken, has high protein and amino acid content, and turns clear, soft, sticky, and typically fragrant when cooked.

Not only an ingredient of traditional dishes such as xoi (steamed sticky rice), banh chung (square sticky rice cake), banh day (round sticky rice cake), banh long (long cake), com (green rice flakes), etc., in recent years, the rice has been used to brew wine by many businesses with reputable awards for product quality.
