All departments, branches, and localities should urgently join and closely coordinate with each other to soon work out a dossier on Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son, Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex for submission to UNESCO for world heritage recognition.
Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hai Duong province Trieu The Hung Hung made the requirement at a meeting held on March 22 to review the dossier completion progress.
The provincial cultural sector considered the dossier compilation a key and thorough task over the past time, said Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (CST) Nguyen Thanh Trung.
The department attended conferences to determine the value of the complex and coordinated with Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to hold many meetings with experts in history, culture, geology, and archeology to draft a report on the issue.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trieu The Hung praised the efforts of the CST sector, departments, braches, and localities in preparing and serving the dossier compilation.
He advocated further excavation of Thanh Mai 2 and Thanh Mai 3 sites and roofing to protect Thanh Mai 2 site (excavated in 2021).
The CST Department needs a roadmap to carry out these tasks.
The provincial People’s Committee chairman assigned the Department of Information and Communications and press agencies to step up propaganda to other localities in Vietnam and abroad to promote the outstanding global cultural heritage values of Con Son – Kiep Bac relic site in the process of Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, and Bac Giang provinces completing and submitting the dossier to UNESCO for world heritage recognition.
He required continuation of work implementation according to three timelines directed by the Prime Minister, which are submission of a draft dossier to the CST Ministry before July 30, 2023, a nomination dossier to UNESCO before September 30, 2023, and an official dossier to UNESCO before December 31, 2023.
